How to Prepare Your Frozen Fresh Fufu

1. Microwave Method (Quick & Easy!)

1. Take your frozen fufu out of the freezer. No need to thaw.

2. Remove it from the plastic wrap and place it in a microwave-safe bowl.

3. Cover with a damp paper towel to keep it moist.

4. Heat on medium power for about 3–5 minutes, depending on the size.

5. Use a spoon or your hand (with clean plastic wrap) to mold it back into a smooth texture.

6 . Serve hot with your favorite soup. Egusi, Ogbono, Okra, Bitterleaf, or Nsala are best! Yummy!

2. Stovetop Method

1. Remove the frozen fufu from its packaging. If the fufu is hard, allow it to thaw at room temperature for a few minutes.

2. Fill a pot with a small amount of water (about 1 inch deep). Place a heat-resistant bowl or a metal stand inside the pot to keep the fufu elevated above the water level.

3. Place the fufu on the bowl or stand inside the pot. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid to trap the steam. Heat the pot over medium heat and allow the steam to warm the fufu. Steam for about 10–15 minutes, turning the fufu occasionally to ensure even heating.

4. Once the fufu is soft and warm, remove it from the pot. Knead it briefly to achieve a smooth, pliable texture.

5. Serve hot with your favorite Nigerian soup.
